WORCESTER, Mass.--Miami University's junior synchronized skating team sits in seventh place among the 10-team field after the short program at the U.S. National Championships.

The RedHawks notched a score of 34.73 with a technical element score of 13.79 and a program component score of 22.94 with two deductions. Miami is less than five points out of fifth place and two points out of sixth place.

Team Braemar leads the junior field with a score of 54.55 for its short program. Skyliners are second with a score of 51.59. Lexxettes (50.30), Chicago Jazz (45.92) and Hockettes (36.76) follow, respectively. Denver Synchronicity (30.75), Evolution (26.12) and Precisely Right (22.02) trail Miami to round out the standings.

Miami's junior team completes its stint at the U.S. National Championships with Friday's free skate event. The RedHawk senior team competes in the short program on Friday evening.
