PHILADELPHIA – Dave Wing set a new career-best in the 10,000m and Joe Stewart was not far off from a personal best of his own in the 5000m at the Penn Relays on Thursday night.

Wing crossed the line in 10th place in the 10,000m with a career-best time of 30:07.56. That time shatters his previous mark of 31:17.69 from last year’s Mid-American Conference Championships. Even more impressive was the fact that Thursday night’s race was his first 10,000m of the outdoor season. That time is the fastest clocked by a MAC runner this season.

In the 5000m, Stewart turned in a solid 15th in a competitive 36-runner field. His time of 14:40.35 was within three seconds of his personal-best 14:37.53 from the Wake Forest Open.

The rest of the Miami men’s track and field team has a busy weekend in store as it hosts the RedHawk Invitational on Saturday.
