LINCOLN, Neb. – Coming off a win on Saturday, the Miami University women’s tennis team (7-4, 0-0 MAC) dropped a 4-3 decision to Nebraska (8-4, 0-0 BIG TEN) on Sunday to finish the weekend with a split. Miami lost two of three doubles matches before winning three of the six singles matches en route to the narrow loss.

Miami lost at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles but junior Ramona Costea and senior Christiana Raymond were able to capture an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles for the RedHawks.

In singles action, freshman Andreea Badileanu won at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 7-5 and Raymond emerged victorious from her No. 3 singles bout by a final of 7-6 (5), 6-1. Playing at No. 6 singles, sophomore Ana Rajkovic walked away Sunday with a 6-1, 6-0 win against her opponent.

Badileanu stretched her win streak to seven consecutive tallies with her victory at No. 2 singles and improved her team-leading record to 10-1, splitting time between No. 2 and No. 3. Rajkovic is not far behind Badileanu with an impressive 10-2 record of her own during match play at No. 6 this year.

Miami does not compete next weekend but returns the following Saturday, March 22 when they host Northern Illinois in their first Mid-American Conference match of the season.
