ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Synapse Sports, one of the leading authorities in field hockey and lacrosse in the United States, announced their postseason field hockey awards on Monday. Earning a spot on the Division I All-Rookie Squad was Miami freshman Carla Romagosa.

Romagosa appeared in all 22 games for the RedHawks this season, finishing with two goals and six assists for 10 points. She recorded one game-winning goal during the season and proved to be a stabilizing force in Miami’s midfield. She was previously honored by the Mid-American Conference by earning a spot on the Second-Team All-MAC squad.

Romagosa was one of only 16 freshman in all of NCAA Division I to make the Synapse All-Rookie Squad.

The RedHawks finished 12-10, winning the MAC Tournament for the second straight season. They advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
