GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Whether it had been in Oxford or Greenville, S.C., the Miami baseball team found a similar situation -- snow falling from the sky. The inclement weather in the Palmetto State forced Fluor Field officials to cancel Saturday's scheduled baseball game between the RedHawks and Michigan State.
The opening game of the Saturday's First Pitch Invitational was also cancelled, although Northwestern and Furman got a couple of innings in the books before the weather turned white.
The game will not be made up, although the two teams will meet again next Sunday in Greenville in the regularly-scheduled second weekend of the event.
Weather permitting, Miami returns to action tomorrow at 3 p.m. against Furman.
