CLEVELAND - The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday that the Miami University field hockey team had swept the weekly awards for the second time this season. Senior Olivia Miller (Prospect, Ky.) was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week, while junior Ali Froede (Burke, Va.) was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week.

This is the first weekly honor of Miller's career. She was the catalyst for the Miami all weekend as the RedHawks won three games in four days, including a MAC game. Miller had one goal and one assist in the victory over Central Michigan, scoring the game winning goal. She scored twice in Miami's 7-1 victory over Georgetown on Sunday, including once again putting in the game winner. Even when she wasn't scoring or receiving the assist for a goal, Miller had a hand in nearly all of the RedHawks' 14 goals scored over the weekend often setting them up with the initial pass. She led the team with 15 shots, including nine on goal.

It is also the first career weekly honor for Froede. She led a Miami defense that allowed only four goals in three games, an average of 1.33 goals per game. That included holding Central Michigan to only one goal to allow the RedHawks to begin MAC play with a victory. She also scored a goal against the Chippewas and assisted on a goal against Georgetown. Froede and the Miami defense allowed only 32 shots in three games, including holding Georgetown and Saint Francis to a combined 14 shots.

The RedHawks hit the road for a Mid-American Conference contest against Missouri State on Saturday at 1 p.m. (EDT). They will then take on Saint Louis on Sunday at 3 p.m. (EDT).
