AKRON, Ohio- The Miami University men’s golf team finished seventh out of 17 teams in the Firestone Invitational Tuesday. The RedHawks shot a final round of four-under par 284 to finish the tournament 18-over par with a final score of 882. South Carolina-Aiken ended up winning the tournament with a final score of seven-over par 871.

Junior Scott Cahill was the RedHawks top overall finisher. He tied for 13th place, shooting two-under par 70 for a final score of two-over par 218. Sophomore, Jack Sparling tied for 24th place, shooting three-under par 69 for a final score of four-over par 220.

Senior Austin Kelly shot two-over par 74 for a final score of 223, tying him for 37th place. Senior Mark MacDonald shot one-under par 71, tying him for 44th place with a final score of 224. Junior Luke Shaughnessy tied for 82nd place after shooting seven-over par.

The Miami University men’s golf team has a week off until they travel to Beallsville, Md. for the Georgetown Intercollegiate Tournament, October 21-22.
