LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Sophomore Nimisha Mohan and freshman Ana Rajkovic won singles matches, but that was not enough Tuesday as No. 63 Kentucky earned a 5-2 victory over Miami at the Boone Tennis Complex.

Alix Thurman and Christine Guerrazzi won during the match, combining for an 8-7 victory at No. 1 doubles.

However, Kentucky had already opened a 1-0 lead by taking 8-2 wins.

Miami (3-6) evened the match at 1-1 when Mohan claimed victory at No. 3. She hed a 6-2, 2-1 lead when her opponent, Edmee Morin-Kougoucheff, was forced to retire.

Kentucky (6-2) rattled off a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1, and a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 4 before clinched the match at No. 2, 6-4, 6-3.

With only four courts available for play, the final two matches started late to round out the action. Kentucky won the No. 6 match 6-3, 6-1 before Rajkovic rallied for a 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) win at No. 5.

Miami continues its seven-game road swing this weekend when it travels to New Haven, Conn. for a pair of matches. The RedHawks face Boston University on Saturday and host Yale on Sunday.
