At halftime Miami recognized its 2012-13 Hall of Fame Class of Dale Cohen '94 (women's tennis), Terry Hoeppner (coach), P.L. (Pete) Miller '71 (men's track and field), Ben Roethlisberger '12 (football), Karin Sherr '99 (synchronized skating) and Kyle Voska '98 (golf). Jane Hoeppner represented the late Terry Hoeppner.

Miami held Akron without a field goal for a 10:21 period during the first half (from the 13:58-3:37 mark). The RedHawks went on a 13-2 run during that frame.

The RedHawks only allowed the Zips 16 points in the first half. It was the fewest points they had allowed in any half this season. The previous low was 21 in the first half of the Wright State game (Dec. 19).

Miami won the rebound battle, 32-30. It was the fourth straight game the 'Hawks outboarded their opponent.

Junior guard Quinten Rollins tied his career-high with seven rebounds, which led all players. It was the third time he reached that mark, the last coming on Feb. 25, 2012 against Buffalo.

Junior forward Will Felder had a string of 12 straight double-figure scoring efforts snapped against the Zips. He finished with seven points.
