DENTON, Texas – In the first game of a two-match trip to Texas, the Miami University women’s tennis team fell to No. 63 North Texas, 4-1. Miami went winless on the doubles court while freshman Andreea Badileanu was the only RedHawk to win her match, downing her opponent 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.

The loss for the RedHawks (4-2, 0-0 MAC) was their second in the last three contests while North Texas (2-4, 0-0 C-USA) clinched their first home win of the season with the victory.

Following her singles victory Saturday, Badileanu improved her team-leading record to 5-1 so far this season.

The No. 1 doubles match involving junior Christine Guerrazzi and senior Nimisha Mohan was halted with North Texas on top 5-4 due to the points having already been decided. Junior Ramona Costea’s No. 5 singles bout and sophomore Ana Rajkovic’s No. 6 singles match were halted in the third set due to the entire match having been decided at that point.

Miami returns to play Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. when they head to SMU for more match play.
