OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University Athletics has improved a variety of the pre- and in-game experiences for fans, and, this includes a special focus on students, starting for Miami's home football opener, and White Out, versus Marshall on Saturday, August 30 at 3:30 p.m.

A new, exclusive student tailgating area has been added to the West Millett lawn - the End Zone. Complete with game day food options, the latest music by DJ Steve the Greek and interactive games, the End Zone is the perfect place to connect and catch up before games. This area is open for all students five hours prior to kickoff and is FREE.

The popular strEATS food truck will be adjacent to the End Zone and students can swipe their IDs to purchase food. In addition to other options, game one will feature Pork carnita nachos. Additional games will feature specialty items, with the option for students to vote via social media for your favorite food for the last home Saturday game.

The Miami Football team, cheerleaders and Miami University Marching Band will all walk by the End Zone at a little more than two hours prior to kick-off each game, providing students an opportunity to cheer on the team on its walk to Yager.

While students will continue to get in FREE to all Miami Football games with a valid (Oxford campus) University ID, the Athletic Department has added more ID swipes. Now, students can enter Yager Stadium from any point of entry on their valid University ID instead of just one location, making entry even easier. Students will be seated on the East side of Yager, as has been the case in the past. Members of Red Alert, the official student support group for Miami Athletics, will have preferred seating options. To join Red Alert today, call (513) 529-0402.

While students have traditionally sat on the East side of Yager, they have a new opportunity to create a home field advantage for Miami Football. The visiting team bench is now also located on the East sideline, with the home bench moving to the West sideline. Other enhancements include:

-The integration of more promotions and gameday Twitter pictures on the videoboard also embraces the use of social media at games and student interaction.
-The strEATS truck will also move from the End Zone to the South end of Yager near the student section during the first half of each game.
-Finally, Swoop's FanFEST, located in the South end of Yager, has been created near the Cradle of Coaches Plaza as a playground for fans of all ages. Students are encouraged to stop by and participate in age-appropriate games.

While students continue to get in FREE to games with a valid University ID, other fans can join in on the action by calling the Miami Athletic Ticket Office at (513) 529-4295 or ordering tickets online.
