OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University head golf coach Zac Zedrick announced the 2014-15 schedule on Tuesday. The schedule features five tournaments in the fall and seven in the spring, concluding with the annual Mid-American Conference Championship, May 1-3, 2015, at the Sand Ridge Golf Club in Chardon, Ohio.
The fall schedule features several tournaments that will feature strong regional competition. It begins Sept. 6-7, when the RedHawks travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan for the Wolverine Intercollegiate on the University of Michigan Golf Course.
Miami follows that up by participating in the Wolf Run Intercollegiate (Sept. 20-21) in Zionsville, Indiana and the Jack Nicklaus Invitational (Sept. 28-29) in Columbus, Ohio.
After participating in the Firestone Invitational (Oct. 6-7) in Akron, Ohio, the RedHawks travel to Kennesaw, Georgia to conclude fall play at the Pinetree Intercollegiate (Oct. 20-21).
The spring schedule begins with the fourth annual Mid-American Match Play (Feb. 9-10) at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Florida. After taking a month off, the schedule resumes in earnest with the Colleton River Collegiate (March 1-2) in Bluffton, South Carolina, the Talis Park Challenge (March 15-16) in Naples, Florida and the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate (March 22-24) in Williamsburg, Virginia.
The RedHawks return to the Midwest for their final two events before the MAC Championship, playing at the Hoosier Invitational (April 11-12) in Bloomington, Indiana and the Boilermaker Invitational (April 18-19) in West Lafayette, Indiana.
"I'm excited about our schedule this season,” said Zedrick. “My two priorities in scheduling are to play as many great golf courses as possible, and to compete against the best competition we can find. I think we've accomplished that and I know I'm speaking for everyone when I say that we can't wait for September 6th to roll around."
Miami returns nine student-athletes from last year’s squad and will welcome three newcomers to the 2014-15 team this season.
