The Miami University Athletic Department has announced the name for the new tailgate area for the 2014 football season will be called “The Red Zone,” a new and improved tailgating location in the West Millett parking lot. Some of the primary benefits include:
· Free pre-game performance by the Miami University Marching Band.
· Participate in tailgating games free of charge.
· Access to food vendors from the Oxford area.
· The opportunity to win prizes based on the best tailgating party.
Other unique offerings include a chance to party with other huge tailgating fans to help Miami create a great gameday atmosphere and to cheer on the football team as they walk through West Millett on their way to Yager Stadium prior to the game.
Those interested in securing a spot in “The Red Zone” still have time to purchase a space for the entire 2014 season. At a price of just $80 fans will have the opportunity to tailgate in their designated parking spot for the football season. To order your spot today, simply call the Athletic Ticket Office at 513-529-4295.
The winning submission was by Jen Curry. For her efforts she (and friends) will receive a special tailgating area at a single game this season, complete with grill, food and games, along with free tickets and parking. The second and third place finishers will be notified soon on how to claim their prizes. Miami Athletics would like to thank everyone that participated in the voting process.
Students, we have not forgotten about you. Those with a valid Miami student ID will have their own exclusive area, adjacent to the “Red Zone” on the lawn of Millett Hall, called the “End Zone.” More details on the student tailgating area will be coming soon.
