SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Former Miami University javelin thrower Tori Paterra took her first steps into her post collegiate career at last week’s USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships.
A two-time All-American with the women’s track and field program, Paterra competed in a field of 14 of the top U.S. born throwers and placed 10th with a toss of 168-5.
Earlier in the month, Paterra wrapped up her collegiate career with the Red and White by finished third in the javelin at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where she unleashed a throw of 182-3 to earn First-Team All-America distinction for the second time in her career. She left MU holding the school record with a throw of 183-5 at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships, which was also a MAC record.
Paterra qualified for the NCAA outdoor meet in each of her four seasons with the Red and White. She also won two individual MAC titles.
