CLEVELAND—Senior Christiana Raymond was one of 13 Mid-American Conference women’s tennis players selected to the 2014 Academic All-MAC Team as voted by the league’s faculty athletic representatives, the conference office announced Tuesday (May 27).
Raymond, the lone RedHawk on the Academic All-MAC Team, owned a 3.87 grade-point average and majored in kinesiology. She was tabbed MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week on March 12 for her efforts on the court the previous week.
Raymond posted a 13-8 overall mark in match singles play during the 2014 campaign, including a 6-2 clip during MAC action to propel Miami to MAC regular-season and tournament titles. Raymond tallied a 2-4 record playing at No. 1 singles, a 1-1 mark on the No. 2 court and an impressive 10-3 showing while playing at No. 3. On the doubles court, the RedHawk senior notched a 12-7 record throughout the season including a strong 12-6 mark while playing at No. 3 doubles.
Nominees must have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade-point average to be eligible for the team.
