CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior first baseman John Crummy’s continued onslaught of opposing pitchers has once again caught the attention of the Mid-American Conference. Crummy was named the MAC East Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

The Butler, Pa., native batted .462 with three homers and a team-best eight RBI in a three-game sweep at Ohio. Crummy homered in all three games of the series, starting off with a 2-for-4 outing in last Thursday’s 8-5 win, blasting a game-tying solo shot in a 6-4 comeback win on Friday and going 3-for-5 with a double, a homer and five RBI in a 16-1 victory on Saturday.

This marks the second-straight week that Crummy has earned the MAC East Player of the Week award.

Miami returns to the diamond on Wednesday morning when it plays Buffalo to open the MAC Tournament.
