OXFORD, Ohio—Miami University’s football team concluded its spring season on Saturday afternoon with its final practice of the season inside Yager Stadium.

The day kicked off with a “Taste of Gameday” tailgate in the Millett Hall West Lot. A great crowd was on hand to enjoy food and beverages provided by athletic department staff members and experience a glimpse of how the tailgate scene will be structured for the 2014 season.

Miami then conducted its final practice in front of fans and family. During the 11-on-11 portions of the practice, senior quarterback Andrew Hendrix threw for 243 yards, which included one touchdown, completing 16 of his 23 attempts. Sophomore quarterback Austin Gearing followed, throwing for 111 yards and two touchdowns, completing 5-of-10 passing attempts.

Sophomore wide receiver Sam Shisso caught four passes for 108 yards and a touchdown, while junior Alvonta Jenkins hauled in a team-leading five catches for 79 years. Sophomore Fred McRae tallied four catches for 37 yards, while freshman Damon Washington notched three receptions for 29 yards.

Senior Dawan Scott and freshman Liam Sallquist each had touchdown receptions with Scott recording a 70-yard completion and Sallquist a notching 5-yard reception.

Gearing led the RedHawks in rushing on the day with four carries for 55 yards. Junior Spencer Treadwell followed with three carries for 26 yards.
