OXFORD, Ohio- Miami University men’s golf coach Zac Zedrick has announced the signing of a new student-athlete to the RedHawk’s golf team. Brian Ohr (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) has signed a National Letter of Intent and will play for Miami during the 2014-15 season.

Ohr was an all-conference and all-state athlete in high school, playing golf all four years. His senior year, Ohr was captain of Glenbrook North’s Golf team. He placed fourth at state in 2010, 2012 and 2013, and was the Class 3A State Champion in 2013. He also helped lead the Spartans to become Conference and Regional Champions in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Ohr qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur last year. His average 18-hole score is 72.0 and his average 9-hole score is 36.2.

"We're really excited to have Brian joining us in the fall,” said coach Zedrick. “He's a hard worker who has grown a lot as a player in the past year.  He's also had the opportunity to compete against some of the best players in the country and knows what he needs to do to get better.  Plus, he's proven he can win, and you want that kind of experience coming into college.  Brian's another great addition to our program."

Ohr is the second signee the RedHawks are bringing in starting in the fall of 2014. Back in November, Zedrick announced the signing of Patrick Flavin (Highwood, Ill./Highland Park).
