OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University head baseball coach Danny Hayden announced the signing of infielder Charlie Dauch (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Andover) to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday.

“We’re excited about Charlie’s versatility,” Hayden said. “He can play a couple different positions and he’ll be a good addition to what is looking like a strong 2014 signing class.”

Dauch earned All-Oakland Activities Association Blue Division honors for Lahser High School last season. The newcomer’s family has a history in athletics and Miami. His brother Luke is a senior outfielder for Northwestern and his father, David, was a three-year letter winner for the Miami football team from 1984-86.

The addition of Dauch gives the RedHawks four signings in their 2014 recruiting class. He joins pitcher Gustin Graham, outfielder/pitcher Nick Longo and pitcher Clay Shourd.
