OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University’s women’s tennis team hits the road this weekend for a pair of Mid-American Conference matchups. The RedHawks take on Buffalo at 1 p.m. on Friday before returning Saturday at the same time to battle Akron.

Last week, Miami (10-5, 2-0) won two of the three matches they competed in and kept their conference record undefeated. In a neutral site match against Stetson on Wednesday, the RedHawks emerged on top, 5-2. On Saturday, Miami won a road conference bout against Ball State, 5-2. The sole loss last week for the Red and White came on Sunday when Louisville narrowly edged out the RedHawks, 4-3.

Buffalo (11-3, 2-1) enters the weekend on a two-match win streak, having defeated MAC opponents Toledo and Northern Illinois in its last two outings.  Buffalo individuals have combined to post a 97-42 record in singles action this year while going 51-22 in doubles play.

Having lost two in a row, Akron (10-10, 0-3) looks to get back in the win column against Miami this weekend. The Zips hold just a 2-4 record at home this season and have lost their last three home matches and seven of their last eight overall.

Miami travels next weekend for another round of road contests before returning home on Saturday, April 19 when it hosts Bowling Green for Senior Day at the Hepburn Varsity Tennis Courts. RedHawk seniors Nimisha Mohan and Christiana Raymond will be honored on the court before that match.
