OXFORD, Ohio – For their performances last week men’s golf junior Scott Cahill and softball junior third baseman Remy Edwards are Miami’s Athletes of the Week connected by Frontier Communications for the week of March 24-March 30.

Cahill had his first career top-10 finish when he tied for 6th at the Middleburg Bank Invitational at 3-over par. He was only five shots behind the winner. He led Miami to a fifth place finish in the large 27 team field. He shot rounds of 73-69-71 for the tournament, with the 69 being a season low.

This is the first time in his career that Cahill has been named Miami’s Male Athlete of the Week.

Edwards batted .571 for the week, leading the RedHawks to a season-opening MAC sweep of Kent State. She had a home run and was 3-for-3 against the Golden Flashes in the opener. She followed it up with a hit and another RBI in the nightcap. Edwards slugged 1.000 for the week and had a sacrifice bunt in all three games she played during the week.

This is the first time in her career that Edwards has been named Miami’s Female Athlete of the Week.
