OXFORD, Ohio – For their performances last week ice hockey freshman forward Anthony Louis and softball junior outfielder Bree Lipscomb are Miami’s Athletes of the Week connected by Frontier Communications for the week of March 17-March 23.

Louis was named to the All-Tournament Team after scoring three goals over the weekend, including two in the championship game on Saturday. Including the St. Cloud series the week before, Louis posted six points (four goals and two assists) during the duration of the NCHC Tournament.

This is the first time in his career that Louis has been named Miami’s Male Athlete of the Week.

Lipscomb had a career week when she hit .500 with three home runs, six RBI and seven runs scored in four games. She had two home runs in Miami’s doubleheader opener against Wright State on Thursday. After leading off the nightcap against the Raiders with a three-run home run, WSU walked her in her final three plate appearances. At the RMU Colonial Classic on Saturday, Lipscomb had hits against both Siena and Robert Morris, scoring three runs in two games. For the week, Lipscomb had an impressive .667 on base percentage, and with 14 total bases, a 1.400 slugging percentage.

This is the second straight week that Lipscomb has earned Miami’s Female Athlete of the Week honor.
