CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly softball awards on Monday. For Miami, sophomore pitcher Amber Logemann was named Co-MAC East Division Pitcher of the Week. It is the first weekly honor of her RedHawk career.
Logemann led Miami to a pair of victories over the week, finishing with a 1.17 ERA in 12.0 innings pitched with 11 strikeouts. Against Wright State on Thursday, she pitched a complete game, allowing only one run on four hits, while striking out seven. She followed that up with five strong innings against Robert Morris on Saturday, allowing only one run on five hits, while striking out four. Logemann had a .200 opponent batting average last week and a WHIP of 0.92.
The RedHawks begin the spring break week with a trip to Marshall Wednesday for a single game beginning at 4 p.m. Miami then begins MAC play this weekend. The ‘Hawks travel to Kent State Friday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. MU will take on Buffalo in single games Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
