CLEVELAND – Miami University freshman Andreea Badileanu  was named Mid-American Conference Women’s Singles Tennis Player of the Week while sophomore Ana Rajkovic and junior Christine Guerrazzi received the honor of MAC Women’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week for the week that ended on March 9.

Badileanu swept her slate of singles matches this past weekend and lengthened her win streak to seven straight. On Saturday, Badileanu was playing at No. 2 singles when she defeated Wyoming's Dorottya Jonas, 6-4, 6-2 en route to a 7-0 RedHawk sweep of the match. Sunday afternoon, Badileanu emerged victorious at No. 2 singles once again when she trumped Nebraska's Izabella Zgierska 6-3, 7-5. Badileanu leads the RedHawks with a solid 10-1 record in match play this season.

Rajkovic and Guerrazzi split their doubles matches last weekend, earning a win over Wyoming while falling to Nebraska. On Saturday, the tandem downed Wyoming's No. 1 singles tandem of Veronica Popovici and Jessica Parizher, 8-3. Sunday afternoon, Rajkovic and Guerrazzi were playing at No. 1 singles again when they fell to Nebraska's Maggy Lehmicke and Mary Hanna, 8-4.

Earlier this season, Senior Nimisha Mohan won the accolade of MAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for her performances during the week ending Feb. 16.

Miami split its matches this past weekend, sweeping Wyoming, 7-0 on Saturday but falling to Nebraska, 4-3 on Sunday. The Red and White return to competition on Saturday, March 22  at 1 p.m. when they open MAC play by hosting Northern Illinois.
