KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Two days after earning Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference honors, Miami University senior forward Will Felder (Cleveland, Ohio/Lutheran East) was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 14 Second Team, the NABC announced Wednesday morning (March 12).
Felder, at two-time All-MAC selection, makes his first appearance on an All-District team.
Felder ranks among MAC leaders in seven statistical categories this season, including scoring, field goal percentage, rebounding, free throw percentage, blocked shots, offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds. He is averaging 14.6 ppg and 6.9 rpg on the season for the RedHawks and averaged 14.9 ppg and 6.6 rpg in MAC play.
Twice this season he has scored 26 points, the most by a Miami player in 2013-14, and has recorded five 20-point efforts this season and three double-doubles. Felder was tabbed MAC East Division Co-Player of the Week on Jan. 27 after spearheading Miami to wins over Central Michigan and Bowling Green.
A transfer from Saint Francis (Pa.) after two years with the Red Flash, Felder has played in every game over the past two years and started all but two.
Felder and No. 8 seed Miami battle No. 5 seed Ohio tonight in a MAC Tournament second-round game at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. This is the third Battle of the Bricks match-up between the RedHawks and Bobcats this season. Game time is 6:30 p.m., and the game will be televised on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel and ESPN3.
