Scott Scores 24 to Propel Miami Past Ohio, 93-76

OXFORD, Ohio—Four players scored in double figures to lift the Miami University men’s basketball team to a 93-76 win over Ohio University on March 3, 1990 at Millett Hall. David Scott paced the Red and White with 24 points off the bench and added five assists in 25 minutes of action in the winning effort.

Miami shot 58.1 percent from the field in the opening half as the Red and White carried an 11-point cushion into the intermission, 44-33. Shooting 55.6 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes of action, Miami outscored the Bobcats 49-43 en route to the 17-point win.

Jim Paul tallied 19 points and a game-best 12 boards for the Red and White in the winning effort, while Craig Michaelis also poured in 19 points, hitting 4-of-6 3-pointers, and Tim Stewart chipped in 15 points. Jamie Mercurio added eight assists for Miami.

The Bobcats were led by Dave Jamerson with 33 points.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------Miami has one remaining home game on its regular-season slate as the RedHawks host rival Ohio at noon on Saturday, March 8 in the 193rd meeting between the teams. It will be a “Battle of the Bricks” doubleheader day at Millett Hall with the Miami University women’s basketball team also hosting Ohio. Game time will be 30 minutes following the conclusion of the men’s game at approximately 2:30 p.m.
