OXFORD, Ohio – For their performances last week senior men’s basketball player Will Felder and senior women’s basketball player Hannah Robertson are Miami’s Athletes of the Week connected by Frontier Communications for the week of Dec. 16-Dec. 22.
Felder averaged 14.0 ppg and 9.0 rpg while helping Miami to its first road win of the season. Felder poured in 19 points as the RedHawks defeated Tennessee State on the road on Saturday. He added 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocked shots to his line while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor. At UMKC, Felder led all players with 10 rebounds and added 9 points. For the week, he shot 50.0 percent from the field.
This is the second time this season and third time in his career that Felder has been named Miami’s Male Athlete of the Week. He previously earned the honor for the weeks of Jan.14-Jan. 20, 2012 and Dec. 2-8, 2013.
Robertson averaged 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game during the RedHawks’ two-game California swing last week. She scored 12 point, brought in three rebounds and dished out three assists against Long Beach State on Tuesday. She followed that up with 13 points and a career-high tying nine rebounds against San Diego State on Thursday. Robertson shot 44.4 percent (8-for-18) from the field during the week, including 44.4 percent (4-for-9) from behind the arc.
This is the third time this season and fourth time in her career that Robertson has been named Miami’s Female Athlete of the Week. She has earned the honor three of the past five weeks.
