CHANDLER, Ariz. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced its 2013 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region Teams on Tuesday. Named to the All-West Region Second-Team from Miami were senior goalkeeper Sarah Mueller and junior back Ali Froede.

This is the second time Mueller has made the All-West Region Second-Team. She previously earned the honor as a freshman in 2010. She played every minute in goal this season making 125 saves while compiling a .758 save percentage. Mueller was previously named First-Team All-MAC, as well as MAC Defensive Player of the Week three times in 2013.

This is the first time Froede has earned an All-Region honor from the NFHCA. She was also named to the All-MAC First-Team and was the MAC Tournament MVP this season. In 2013, she was named MAC Player of the Week three times, twice on defense and once for offense. Froede led Miami with nine goals and three assists in 22 games for a team-best 21 points.

The RedHawks finished the season 12-10, winning the MAC Tournament for the second straight season. They advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
