CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its final weekly players of the week on Tuesday. Earning MAC Defensive Player of the Week was senior goalkeeper Sarah Mueller. This is the third time this season and seventh time in her career she has won a MAC weekly award.

Mueller had a fantastic weekend in leading the RedHawks to a pair of overtime wins. She allowed only one goal, while tying a career-high with 14 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory over Providence on Sunday. The day before against Central Michigan she only had to make two saves as the Miami defense was strong, but one of them was a penalty stroke, which preserved a scoreless game in a contest that the RedHawks would eventually win, 2-1 in double overtime. Mueller had a 0.82 goals against average in 173:20 in goal last week.

This season, Mueller was previously named MAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 24 and Oct. 8.

Miami will be the third seed and will take on second seed Ohio on Friday at 2 p.m. in the upcoming MAC Tournament. The entire tournament will take place the Miami Field Hockey Complex in Oxford, Ohio.
