CLEVELAND, Ohio—For the first time this season, Miami University’s Evan Bader has been named as the Mid-American Conference Male Swimmer of the Week for his tremendous performance against Cleveland State last week.
The sophomore (Oxford, Ohio/Talawanda High School) earned 31 points in Miami’s first road contest of the season winning two individual events, contributing to a relay win and placing in the 200 IM.
Bader won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.35 and won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:05.91. He also swam the second leg of the 200 medley relay team that finished first-place with a time of 1:33.19. Finally, Bader earned the RedHawks two points with a fourth-place finish and time of 1:57.46 in the 200 IM contributing to Miami’s win.
Earlier this season, Bader was named the Mid-American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Week for his performance against Xavier and his performance in the classroom.
The RedHawks and Bader return to action Saturday, Nov. 9, against Ohio State in the Nixon Aquatic Center at 11 a.m.
