CHANDLER, Ariz. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the participants for its 2013 Front Rush/NFHCA Division I Senior Game on Thursday. Making the squad from Miami was senior goalkeeper Sarah Mueller.

The Senior Game is an annual showcase of the top graduating players throughout the country. While this year’s format is still to be determined, the previous couple of years have seen the seniors divided into a couple of squads where they face off against each other as well as scrimmage the United States National Team. The game will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2:15 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va.

Mueller has played every minute in goal for Miami this season. She has a .736 saves percentage and has made 95 saves on the year, allowing only 2.00 goals per game. Mueller was an All-MAC First Team selection in 2012, a NFHCA All-West Region Second Team selection in 2010 and has been named MAC Defensive Player of the Week six times during her career.

Mueller is the first RedHawk invited to participate in the NFHCA Senior Game since Taylor Florence in 2007.

Miami looks to build momentum going into next week’s Mid-American Conference Tournament as it hosts the final two games of the regular season this weekend. The RedHawks complete MAC play when they welcome Central Michigan to town on Saturday at noon. Miami then hosts Providence on Sunday at noon for Senior Day.
