CLEVELAND – Miami University women’s basketball senior guard Hannah Robertson was selected to the Mid-American Conference East Division Preseason Team, while the RedHawks were picked to finish fourth in preseason coaches’ poll released by the MAC office on Tuesday.

Robertson is Miami’s top returning scorer, having averaged 9.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season. She appeared in 27 games, making 25 starts. She is one of three returning starters for the 2013-14 RedHawk squad, which returns a total of nine letterwinners from a team that went 19-13 last season and qualified for the WNIT for the second straight year.

Akron was the preseason pick of nine of the MAC’s coaches to win the East Division. Bowling Green was picked second, and received the other three first-place votes. Buffalo was picked just in front of Miami in third, while Ohio and Kent State rounded out the East Division in fifth and sixth place respectively.

Central Michigan was the preseason pick to win the West Division by all 12 coaches. After a breakout season last year, Ball State was picked to finish in second place. Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Northern Illinois rounded out the poll.

The Chippewas were also the pick by nine coaches to win the MAC Tournament. One coach picked Miami to win, while Akron and Bowling Green each received a single vote as well.

The RedHawks play their only exhibition game of the season when they host Seton Hill on Saturday at 2 p.m. Admission is free, and it will be broadcast live on Miami All-Access for those who have a subscription. The regular season begins on Friday, Nov. 8 when Miami welcomes Eastern Kentucky to Millett Hall for a noon tip.
