Coming off their 17th MAC Championship, the Miami women’s swimming and diving team, begin the 2013-2014 season with the annual Red vs. White Intrasquad/Alumni Meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 in the Nixon Aquatic Center. There is no admission charge for the event.

This will be the first time for the public to see this year’s team and will also be an opportunity to see returning alumni. A list of returning alumni will be posted at a later time.

The event will honor former women’s swimming and diving coach, Dave Jennings, who retired following last season’s MAC Championship. Jennings coached the RedHawks for 31 seasons, after joining the program in 1982. He won 16 MAC Championships and compiled a dual meet record of 265-105 (.716). Jennings was inducted as a member of the Miami Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996.

The men’s swimming and diving team will also have their Red & White Intrasquad Meet tomorrow at the Nixon Aquatic Center.

The women’s team begins their season on Friday, Oct. 18, in the Nixon Aquatic Center against Purdue.

The men’s team begins their season Saturday, Oct. 19, when both teams host Xavier.
