OXFORD, Ohio – After playing its first seven games on the road, the Miami University field hockey team opens its home schedule against Ohio State on Wednesday. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and it can be seen live on Miami All-Access for those who have a subscription.

Miami is 3-4 on the season. Five of its first seven games have been against teams ranked in the top 20. In fact their scheduler ranks as the 10th-most difficult in the NCAA so far.

The RedHawks split a pair of games last weekend. They overcame a two-goal halftime deficit on Saturday to defeat 20th-ranked American, 3-2. Senior forward Alyssa Logan scored the game winner, while sophomore midfielder Bea Dechant and junior back Ali Froede also recorded goals for the Red and White. Miami then fell to second-ranked Maryland, 6-0, on Sunday. Senior goalkeeper Sarah Mueller made 10 saves against the nation’s leading offense.

Ohio State is 2-4 on the year. Last weekend, the Buckeyes dropped a pair of 1-0 decisions to seventh-ranked Massachusetts and sixth-ranked Syracuse. OSU has only given up only 12 goals in its six games, but has only scored 10 itself. The Buckeyes are led by sophomore forward Peanut Johnson, who has three goals and one assist for seven points this season.

Miami takes the weekend off before hosting UC Davis next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
