OXFORD, Ohio – With Summer Orientation allowing incoming freshmen to visit Miami University’s campus through the next week, MURedHawks.com continues its series to introduce the newest athletic recruits to their future classmates.
Today’s story features our final two incoming football players.
Parker White: Defensive Line, 6-4, 230 –Bellaire, TX –St. Thomas High School –Coach Tim Fitzpatrick
Earning the Houston Touchdown club’s Lineman of the Year award in 2012, Parker is a two-time first-team all-state and all-district selection. He recorded 13 quarterback sacks with 23 TFLs as a senior, and nine sacks with 20 TFLs as a junior. Parker was also a three-time letter winner in rugby and MVP on the state championship team. His father played football at Texas Tech and was drafted by the New York Jets.
Coach Treadwell about Parker White: "Parker White's father and our own Wes Williams' father were teammates and the Williams family helped us discover Parker. He plays just like Wes Williams and catches your attention immediately. Parker's frame has great length and he's very athletic. He knows how to get to the passer."
TJ Williams: Linebacker, 6-1, 210 –Creve Coeur, MO –CBC High School –Coach Scott Pingel
TJ had six Quarter Back sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries for touchdowns. His team earned the state No. 1 ranking with an 11-1 record, and Coach Scott Pingel’s Cadets were state runners-up in 2011. A four-time letter winner in football as a linebacker, TJ earned first-team All-Metro honors in St. Louis. He plans to study engineering and architecture at Miami this coming fall.
Coach Treadwell about TJ Williams: "Over the last three years, CBC has had an unbelievable winning record, so TJ is used to success. He's very athletic for his size. TJ can make plays because he understands the game so well."
