OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami Athletics’ Sports Marketing team has several overarching goals that guide the daily actions of the athletic department. Among the initiatives, is a goal of expanding partnerships - both corporate and community.
The Miami Sports Marketing Department seeks to build sustained partnerships in the community, albeit through group ticket sales or improved season ticket holders' benefits.
Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Sales and Licensing, Anthony J. Azama states “Our focus is to win our backyard, which is to engage the surrounding communities through leveraging partnerships to ultimately enhance our fans' experience. By identifying the right mix of corporate sponsors and community partners, fans can be rewarded for their continued support.”
In the 2013-2014 Season, Miami Athletics is proud to extend the partnership with the Miami University Bookstore. One example of how a partnership can add value is when our fans purchase tickets. As a part of the 2013 football season ticket package, fans will receive a gift certificate with each season ticket purchase. The gift card is good for Swoop Shop at Yager Stadium or Miami’s Official Campus Bookstore. The Friends and Family Football Foursome package will also feature a game day gear discount. Throughout the season, there will be other valuable offers for Miami Athletics’ fans.
Sarah Thacker, the Director of the Miami University Bookstore states, “The bookstore is proud to partner with Miami Athletics to provide the latest Miami spirit wear - game day or any day. Love and Honor."
The timing could not be better as the 2013 football season kicks off the home schedule against rival Cincinnati. The Cincinnati game has been declared a white-out. So Miami fans are encouraged to wear white Miami gear to the game. Season ticket holders will have added motivation to use their Bookstore reward to ‘Stand As ONE’ with other Miami supporters.
Increasing the partnerships to enhance the experience of Miami's fans will continue to be an area of emphasis for both Miami's marketing department and IMG, Miami's media rights holder.
