OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University head women’s basketball coach Cleve Wright announced the signing of guard Rachel Goddard (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday. Goddard will begin play for the RedHawks during the 2013-14 season.

Goddard was a three-year letterwinner for Wadsworth High School. The 5-6 point guard led the Grizzlies to the quarterfinals each of the past two seasons, averaging 13.0 points and 3.1 assists per game as a senior. She scored 842 points as a two-year starter.

Goddard was named Third-Team All-Division I as a senior in 2013. She was also honored with spots on the All-Suburban League and All-Medina County first teams. She was chosen to participate in the 2013 Ohio vs. Kentucky All-Star Game and the Stark-Summit All-Star Game.

Basketball is in the blood of the Goddard family. Her father Bill and her older brother Nick both played for Akron.

Goddard joins Nicole Anderson (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute North) and Jillian Spurlock (Hamilton, Ohio/Hamilton) as incoming freshmen for the 2013-14 season.
