OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University will host its annual Cradle of Coaches Clinic on Friday, Apr. 12, with Cincinnati St. Xavier High School head football coach Steve Specht serving as the keynote speaker.
Registration will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at Miami’s Millett Hall.
Earlier this year, Specht received the 2013 Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award. During his nine years at St. Xavier, he has coached five players who have gone on to play in the NFL. His Bombers have won two Ohio big school championships (2005, 2007), with Specht earning Ohio Division I Coach of the Year honors both times. Specht served as the head coach of the 2012 U.S. Under-19 National Team and defensive coordinator in 2009, leading Team USA to a gold medal in the 2009 IFAF Under-19 World Championship and a silver medal three years later.
Football coaches at all levels are invited to attend the one-day event. Millett Hall will be the site of presentations by Specht and the RedHawk football coaching staff. Guests will also be able to attend an on-field presentation by Miami’s coaches and players. A social event will conclude the evening.
