Miami University's Bekka Westrick sends her second blog from Indianapolis, site of the 2013 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. She swims Friday morning in the 100 butterfly preliminary heats. Bekka will send new blogs on Friday and Saturday.

Well, I just got back from watching finals, which was pretty fun to see. I got to watch one of my competitors from Buffalo in the consolation heat of the 50 and Margo Geer win the finals. It was really cool to see all the former Olympians and big names swim tonight. Although I do have to say watching people in person always seems a lot slower. You know what they say, the tv makes you drop 15 seconds.

This morning was a lot of fun, I counted for the 500 freestyler from EMU and, oh yes, I swam the 50!! Even though the outcome was not my best, I still had a lot of fun representing Miami! I think my favorite part was the moment after I stepped up on the blocks and the whistle was blown, I heard my dad in the stands screaming "Let's Go Hawks".

I cannot wait for another chance to represent the RedHawks tomorrow in the 100 Fly. Also, my teammates are coming!!! I couldn't ask for better teammates. I was overwhelmed today with good luck texts messages, it was almost like they were all here with me today. It will be nice to see them all tomorrow.

Love & Honor
