OXFORD, Ohio - The first Wednesday of February marks one of the most anticipated days of the college sports calendar, so it's no big surprise that Miami University's football, soccer, field hockey and track and field coaches are so excited. National Letter of Intent signing day is tomorrow (Wed., Feb. 6) and, for the first time, Miami University's fans, friends and family are invited to experience, in person, the introduction of the newest RedHawk recruits.
Millett Hall's Hall of Fame lobby will be the site of this year's RedHawk Recruiting Live! presented by Miami Savings Bank. As a member of the studio audience, Miami fans will not only experience the announcements first-hand, they'll have the chance to win a variety of valuable prizes. The special event will run for four hours, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET.
But if you can't drop by Millett Hall on Wednesday, RedHawk Recruiting Live! will be presented ONLINE, in real time. Just tune in Miami All-Access at www.MURedHawks.com, free of charge.
More than 20 talented high school football prospects will officially announce their plans to join Coach Don Treadwell's RedHawk squad. Also participating Wednesday will be women's track and field coach Kelly Phillips, soccer coach Bobby Kramig and field hockey coach Inako Puzo.
RedHawk Recruiting Live will again be hosted by the IMG broadcast trio of Steve Baker, Tim Bray and Terry Bridge.
A multi-camera operation will not only introduce fans to the new recruits through video clips, interviews and photos, fans will be able to get up close and personal with members of Miami's coaches and administrators.
In 2010, Miami became the first institution to initiate a live NLI Day webcast to its fans. That year's special set MURedHawks.com record for single-day page views and visitors.
