Last week: Miami was off last week after competing in the championship game of the inaugural Three Rivers Classic Saturday, Dec. 29 in Pittsburgh, Pa. This week: The RedHawks (12-4-4 overall) resume CCHA play at Northern Michigan Friday, Jan. 11 through Saturday, Jan. 12. Puck drop is set for 7:35 p.m. both nights at the Berry Events Center in Marquette, Mich. Miami beat and tied the Wildcats in Oxford, Nov. 9-10, taking five of six points in the CCHA series.
Last week: Miami was edged by Massachusetts, 70-69, at home on Wednesday. It was the RedHawks' first home defeat of the season (FULL STORY). This week: MU (5-7) concludes its four-game homestand, opening Mid-American Conference play against Northern Illinois Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. The team then travels to play Buffalo Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m.
Last week: The RedHawks defeated Duquesne, 54-49, on the road Saturday, Jan. 5 (FULL STORY). With the win, MU has won three of its last four games. This week: Miami (8-5) begins MAC play Thursday, Jan. 10 when it travels to Muncie, Ind. to take on Ball State at 7 p.m. The team hits the road again, playing at Western Michigan Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m.
Women's Swimming & Diving
Last week: Miami concluded a week-long training period at an outdoor complex in Boca Raton, Fla. The RedHawks' training headquarters is an outdoor facility at Boca's picturesque St. Andrews Country Club. The trip included a non-scoring dual meet against James Madison University the morning of New Year's Day (FULL STORY). This week: MU travels to compete against Cincinnati Friday, Jan. 11 at 5 p.m.
Men's Swimming & Diving
Last week: Miami continued its training in Colorado Springs, Colo. at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. The team has been training in Colorado since Dec. 27 and returns home to Oxford Tuesday, Jan. 8. (FULL STORY). This week: The RedHawks travel to play at Cincinnati Friday, Jan. 11.
This week: All three of Miami's synchronized skating teams return to action this weekend, as they travel to Fraser, Mich. The junior team will compete at the Junior World Qualifier Friday, Jan. 11 through Saturday, Jan. 12, while the senior and collegiate teams will be competing at the same location in the Mid-America Championships Saturday, Jan. 12 through Sunday, Jan. 13.
Coming up: The Miami women's tennis team continues its spring season Saturday, Jan. 19 with a match against Indiana in Cincinnati at the Western Hills Tennis Center. Matches begin at 11 a.m.
This week's HawkTawk with men's basketball coach John Cooper will be held Thursday, Jan. 10 at Kroger. The broadcast, which is presented by Kroger, begins at 7 p.m. All fans and students are welcome to attend.
