OXFORD, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday. Senior forward Kirsten Olowinski (Erie, Pa.) was named MAC East Division Player of the Week after a vote by the women's basketball coaches. It is the second consecutive week that she won this award.

Olowinski continued her strong play from the previous week, averaging a double-double with 16.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game in two games. In leading Miami to a 72-54 win over Wright State on Tuesday, she scored 12 points and brought in a season-high 17 rebounds. During that game she became the 21st player in school history to record 1,000 career points. It was her 33rd career double-double. She followed up with 21 points and eight rebounds on Saturday at Cleveland State. Olowinski also had three blocks in that game and passed the 900 career rebound mark. For the week, Olowinski shot 50 percent (13-for-26) and was 87.5 percent (7-for-8) from the line. She also had three steals on the week.
