OXFORD, Ohio - While the official Mid-American Conference awards won't be released until Thursday, the Miami University women's soccer team is already reaping in the accolades for its MAC championship season.

After achieving a regular-season record of 16-2-1 (10-0-1 in the MAC), six different RedHawks were recognized by College Sports Madness for their performance in the conference.

Miami boasts the MAC's Freshman of the Year according to College Sports Madness in midfielder Haley Walter (Cincinnati, Ohio). A 2012 graduate of local Kings Mills Kings High School, Walter is tied for fifth in the conference in points with 23 and fourth with eight goals. She has been particularly impressive in late-game situations as she leads the conference in game-winning goals with five. College Sports Madness also named Walter a Second-Team All-Conference selection.

The RedHawks' high-powered offense ranks ninth in the country, scoring 2.55 goals per game. College Sports Madness took notice awarding four of Miami's attacking players First-Team All-MAC honors.

Senior forward Jess Kodiak (Naperville, Ill.), junior midfielders Kayla Zakrzewski (London, Ont.) and Katy Dolesh (Chardon, Ohio) and sophomore midfielder Kelsey Dinges (Smithton, Ill.) were all recognized as the MAC's best at their respective positions.

Dinges and Kodiak are tied for second in the MAC with 10 goals on the year while Kodiak is also second with 29 points. Dolesh is fourth with eight goals and fifth with 23 points while Zakrzewski has seven goals of her own in addition to a school-record 10 assists this season, which are second in the MAC. Zakrzewski and Dinges are both third in the MAC with 24 points.

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Allison Norenberg (Palatine, Ill.) joins Walter as a Second-Team All-Conference member. Norenberg has been a vital piece to the RedHawks team all year, tying the school record with eight shutouts this season.

Top-seeded Miami squares off against the No. 4 seed Kent State in Oxford in the MAC Tournament semifinals Friday, Nov. 2, as the RedHawks are hosting the tournament. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 11 a.m. ET.
