The RedHawks lead their series against Akron by an all-time margin of 15-5-1. Miami has won eight of its last nine games vs. the Zips.Zac Dysert, the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week, had a hand in all four RedHawk touchdowns as Miami defeated UMass in the MAC opener. Dysert completed nearly 55 percent of his 22 passes, throwing for 192 yards and three touchdowns (49, 17 and 33 yards). He also ran the ball 12 times for 76 net yards (6.3 ypa) and scored one TD. In MAC career passing categories, Dysert now ranks tenth in passing yardage (9,427), eighth in completions (855, also a school record, passing Ben Roethlisberger with 854) and is tied for 19th in touchdown passes (53).

Linebacker Chris Wade has led the RedHawks in tackles in each of the last three games. He is Miami's top tackler in 2012 and ranks tied for seventh in tackles among MAC players with 38. Coming into the 2012 season, Wade had accounted for only 12 total stops during his career.

The RedHawks are 1-0 in conference play for the 43rd time in 65 years as a member of the MAC. Miami is seeking its 16th league title, more than any other school.

Miami recorded eight of its 18 longest plays of 2012 last week vs. UMass, including 49- and 33-yard pass plays from Zac Dysert to Dawan Scott and Spencer Treadwell, respectively.
