Miami University head men's basketball coach John Cooper is teaming up with head coaches Mick Cronin (Cincinnati), Billy Donlon (Wright State), Chris Mack (Xavier) and Archie Miller (Dayton) for the Second Annual Coaches vs. Cancer of Southwest Ohio Tip-Off Breakfast.
The event takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 8-10 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Cincinnati and features the five Division I men's basketball head coaches from Southwest Ohio before they tip off their respective seasons. Fans enjoy breakfast while the head coaches and sports personalities debate the upcoming season. Come join your favorite coaches for a morning of food and fun to tip off the 2012-13 seasons.
There will be a strong Miami presence at this year's breakfast. In addition to featuring new RedHawk head coach John Cooper, Charlie and Delores Coles will be the event's guests of honor. Coach Coles, who retired in March after 16 seasons at the helm of the RedHawk program, is Miami's winningest coach and the Mid-American Conference's leader for career conference wins. His wife, Delores, is a three-time cancer survivor. They are being honored for their dedication and commitment to fighting cancer and growing the Coaches vs. Cancer program in Southwest Ohio and across the state and country.
The event is a partnership of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and the American Cancer Society. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society's mission of saving lives and creating more birthdays.
