CLEVELAND - On Tuesday, the Mid-American Conference announced that for the second time this season, junior libero Madison Hardy (Louisville, Ky.) has been named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week. It is the fourth time she has won this award in her career.

Hardy led the RedHawk defense to three wins last weekend as she earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team at Miami's home tournament. Earlier in the week, she set a career-high with 32 digs in a five-set match against Xavier. She would go on to have 41 digs at the tournament, including 21 in a win over Temple that clinched the title for the RedHawks. Hardy had zero reception errors in three of the four matches Miami played, and only had three total for the weekend. She led the defense to allowing only a .132 hitting percentage on the week, including a -.032 hitting percentage by Chicago State.

Miami returns to action this weekend when it travels to Bloomington, Ind. for the Hoosier Classic. The RedHawks take on Chattanooga on Friday at 5 p.m. On Saturday they will face Valparaiso at 10 a.m. and host Indiana at 7 p.m.
