OXFORD, Ohio -- Tuesday's scheduled baseball game between Miami and Xavier at McKie Field has been postponed because of snow, Head Coach Dan Simonds announced today. The schools are working at finding an acceptable make-up date, but nothing has been determined.
This marks the second meeting between the local schools that has been altered because of weather. A March 5 contest at Xavier -- Miami's first scheduled game in the area -- was pushed back due to rain and cold temperatures.
The Musketeers and RedHawks are not slated to face each other again this season, but could meet in the Fifth Annual Joe Nuxhall Classic, hosted by Cincinnati. If both teams either win or lose the opener, they would play on the second day, April 10, at Marge Schott Stadium.
Miami's next action is now set for Friday at Toledo. The Rockets and RedHawks meet at 3 p.m. in the opener, then play Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. Miami is 10-10 overall and 3-0 in the MAC after sweeping Eastern Michigan at home this past weekend.
