For the first time in school history, the Miami University Athletics Department has reached 100-percent participation among its staff in the Red & White Club. As of June 30, 2014, all 117 athletic staff members currently give to the Red & White Club.
“This initiative by our coaches and staff shows their commitment to this athletic department and university,” said Miami Athletics Director, David Sayler. “Combine that with the giving of our student-athletes, and it is further proof that everyone linked to Miami Athletics is striving for the same goal – graduating champions.”
If this story sounds familiar, it should. Back in November of 2013, Miami Athletics announced that they had secured 100-percent participation in the Red & White Club among its 547 student-athletes, an idea originated from Miami’s RedHawk Council.
"Our student-athletes made an unbelievable statement as every one of them financially supported the Red & White Club, the annual scholarship fund for Miami Athletics,” said Senior Director of Development/Associate Athletic Director, Coleman Barnes. “The momentum heading into the next academic year continues to build and we invite all alumni and friends to help keep it going."
Any gifts made to the University through the Red & White Club support scholarships for current Miami student-athletes. Those that want to get involved can do so by joining the Red & White Club by clicking HERE. Reminder, Monday, June 30, 2014 is the deadline to renew or activate membership.
