OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University volleyball head coach Carolyn Condit announced the team’s 2014 schedule on Tuesday. The RedHawks have 11 home matches his season, including three at their annual Miami Invitational, September 19-20.

Season tickets are now available for purchase. An adult ticket for all 11 games is $36, while an 18-and-under youth ticket is $24. Single-match tickets will go on sale in August. Miami students have free admission with their student ID.

The RedHawks will play four non-conference tournaments prior to beginning Mid-American Conference play. The season begins with the Panther Invitational, August 29-30. On Friday, August 29, Miami will take on North Dakota State at 11 a.m. (EDT) and Robert Morris at 6 p.m. (EDT). On Saturday, August 30, the ‘Hawks will face host Milwaukee at 2 p.m. (EDT).

The weekend of September 5-6 will see MU head to the Indiana Invitational. It begins on Friday, September 5 when the RedHawks take on the host Indiana Hoosiers at 7 p.m. On Saturday, September 6, Miami faces Mississippi State at 10 a.m. and Southeast Missouri State at 5 p.m.

The next weekend of September 12-13, the RedHawks will participate in a tournament at Bradley University. Miami will take on the host Braves on Friday, September 12 at 8 p.m. (EDT). On Saturday, September 13, the RedHawks will have a rematch against North Dakota State at 11 a.m. (EDT) and finish the tournament with a match against UMKC at 5:30 p.m.

The Red and White hosts its annual Miami Invitational during the final weekend of non-conference action, September 19-20. On Friday, September 19, the RedHawks open the event against IUPUI. On Saturday, September 20, Miami faces UAB at noon and takes on instate rival Ohio State at 7 p.m.

"Our 2014 non-conference schedule is designed to provide our team with a range of fine opponents varying in RPI strength and offensive style of play,” said Condit. The competitions will continue to prepare us cognitively and physically to allow Miami to make a strong statement through the rigorous Mid-American Conference schedule."

MAC play begins with three straight contests on the road: at Akron (September 26), at Buffalo (September 27) and at Bowling Green (October 2). The RedHawks open the home portion of the MAC schedule on Saturday, October 4 when they host Northern Illinois at 7 p.m.

League play format remains the same as in previous years. Miami will play each of the MAC East Division teams twice, once home and once away, and each of the MAC West Division teams once. Other conference matches at Millett Hall this year will feature Ohio (October 10), Kent State (October 11), Toledo (October 23), Ball State (October 24), Buffalo (October 31), Akron (November 1) and Bowling Green (November 6).

The top eight teams will qualify for the Mid-American Conference Tournament Nov. 21-24 in Athens, Ohio. Under a new format this season, the top two seeds will receive double-byes to the semifinals. The three and four seeds will receive byes to the quarterfinals, while seeds five through eight will have to win four matches in order to win the tournament.
