Charlie Suich tossed six strong innings while Jacob Banks pitched three scoreless frames to pick up his first collegiate save in a 3-1 win over the Buckeyes on Tuesday. (Recap) A career-high 13 strikeouts in eight innings from Seth Varner along with some timely hitting late in the game gave the Red and White an 8-3 lead entering the ninth at Buffalo, but the Bulls rallied for five runs to force extra innings. Rain halted play after 10 innings with the score tied 8-8, sending the conclusion to Saturday. (Recap) With a day to sleep off the shocking ninth, the Red and White came to the park and quickly finished things off on Matt Honchel's RBI single in the top of the 11th while Banks picked up his second-straight save. Miami then jumped back to the diamond and used two Chad Sedio homers and three extra base hits from John Crummy to jump ahead 8-2 and eventually hold onto a 9-7 win. (Recap) The RedHawks finished off the weekend sweep thanks to a career-best eight innings and eight strikeouts from Charles Zubrod.
